New Facilities

New Women's Dormitory "Soushun Dormitory"

Completed in March 2008, the three-story dorm was designed for women to live and study in optimal comfort and is equipped with the latest security system.

Graduate School of Teacher Education Hall

Completed in March 2008, the four-story building was constructed to meet the needs of the new Graduate School for Teacher Education, which was dedicated in April 2008.

New Gymnasium

Completed in March 2009, the new sports complex features the latest training equipment, multi-purpose rooms and other athletic facilities. The complex will be built next to an artificial-turf field.

New "Soudai-Mon" Gate and Soka University Silk Road

Completed in March 2009, the new Gate will lead into a broad avenue lined with cherry trees and ginkgo trees, and a monument honoring Soka education over the ages will be erected.

New Lecture Hall

Scheduled for completion in June, 2009, the two-story building will feature two large lecture halls—one with a seating capacity of 400 and the other, 500 people—on the second floor, while a large cafeteria will open on the first floor. The facility will be equipped with solar power generators, reflecting the university’s commitment to protect the environment.

Arts and Sciences Building

Scheduled to be built on the site of the present Central Gymnasium as a project commemorating the 40th anniversary of Soka University, the 12-story building is expected to become a second major campus landmark, following the completion of the Central Tower in May 1999.
