About Our faculty

The Faculty of Education consists of two departments: the Department of Education and the Department of Primary Education. Both are established upon the university’s founding principle to “be the highest seat of learning for humanistic education.”

The Department of Education offers a wide range of courses pursuing a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to the study of humanistic education in both theory and practice. Courses include comparative and international education, educational administration, lifelong learning, information education, educational psychology, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology. The department also offers an English language instruction course taught in English, and school-based practicum courses.

The Department of Primary Education offers a broad range of programs in kindergarten and elementary school education, the foundation of humanistic education. Courses cover the general study of child-care, the foundation of primary education, educational psychology, developmental psychology, instructional methodology, and methods for teaching individual subjects.

In recent years, the majority of our graduates choose to become elementary school teachers upon graduation, but others have been active in education-related private companies, in the fields of psychology and social welfare, as public servants, and also as school teachers at kindergarten, junior and senior high schools.
