Two national television networks have begun airing promotional advertisements of Soka University. The ads were produced to introduce the institution to a broader audience and come in two 15-second versions, which are being broadcast on the Nippon Television Network Corporation (Channel 4), and one 30-second spot being shown on Fuji Television Network, Inc. (Channel 8). The ads, which will run from October to December, are available only in Japanese.

The ad’s central character is SOBIT, a research robot developed by the university’s engineering department based on an ATR-Robotics Co., Ltd. unit. The development project for Soka’s prototype robot has been certified by the education ministry and the unit is expected to serve as guides in museums and engage in other social service activities in the future.
