Soka University’s full-contact karate team won the team title in the 69th national kickboxing tournament organized by the All-Japan University Kickboxing Federation. The tournament took place on November 1, with ten universities, including Meiji, Toyo, Nihon and Chuo, participating.

The three-man Soka team—all of them juniors—was comprised of Takuya Sasaki, a law major; Kenji Anazawa, an economics major; and Masanori Kawamoto, who is also majoring in law.

The latest victory marks the second for the Soka team since winning in 2006.
