A ranking delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan led by Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed and Ambassador to Japan Akylbek Kamaldinov visited Soka University on December 5. Delivering an address on Kazakhstan-Japan cultural exchange, Minister Kul-Mukhammed described his central Asian republic as an ethnically and culturally diverse society that is also blessed in natural resources, including oil. He emphasized the importance of learning from diversity, drawing from other cultures to enrich one’s own culture. He added that he looked forward to developing further exchanges between Kazakhstan institutions and Soka University, which he praise for its diverse student body and extensive array of exchange initiatives. Minister Kul-Mukhammed was also conferred the Soka University Award of Highest Honor that day. |
