Soka University administration officials said today that the school will be extending a special scholarship to 30 applicants for the 2009 school year for individuals who are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of the domestic recession. The program will exempt tuition and other fees ranging from 410,500 yen (approx. US$5,100) for humanities majors to 561,500 yen (US$6,300) for engineering majors. It will be used to augment the two existing scholarship programs presently being offered.
