Soka University Faculty of Business Administration Noriaki Fukushima ran in the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4, placing 49th in the annual 10-kilometer (6.2 miles) race in which 55,000 people participated. The race was sponsored by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the largest daily in the state. Fukushima and his coach, Yoshiichi Oda, were invited by the Asian Studies Center of Georgia State University in way of celebrating a new student exchange program GSU entered with Soka. Mizuki Mazzotta, the exchange program director, is a Soka graduate and an instructor in GSU’s Department of Modern and Classical Languages. Founded in 1913, GSU is located in the state capital of Atlanta and offers 55 accredited degree programs to more than 40,000 students. Among the university’s primary goals is “to prepare citizens for lifelong learning in a global society.” |
