Soka University hosted the TIES 2010 Summer Symposium, which it co-organized with Cyber Campus Consortium-Tezukayama Internet Education Service, or CCC-TIES, a nonprofit group promoting e-learning methodologies and technologies in academia, industry and local communities.

Soka University President Hideo Yamamoto opened the program by introducing his institution’s e-learning initiatives, while other speakers addressed the profits and pitfalls of open education.
