Soka University President Hideo Yamamoto recently announced the 2011 Education Vision, a series of initiatives to enhance the overall academic experience for students carried out under the aegis of the school’s Grand Design Initiative issued in April 2010.

The aim of the Initiative is to foster the creative skills of students.

Among the programs that will be introduced this year are a new major in social welfare and opening of a new center for Japanese language and culture studies.

“These and other moves reflect our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of education provided at Soka University as we usher in our 50th anniversary,” President Yamamoto concluded.
