Soka runner takes part in 10-k U.S. run in Georgia, USA Soka University Faculty of Business Administration Noriaki Fukushima ran in the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4, placing 49th in the annual 10-kilometer (6.2 miles) race in which 55,000 people participated. Soka microsatellite Negai still going strong Negai, a microsatellite developed by Soka University engineering students led by Dr. Seiji Kuroki, still remains in near-Earth orbit some 20 days after it was launched. The Negai—or “to dream” or “wish” in Japanese—weighs just one kilogram and was designed to stay in orbit for no more than three weeks.

Soka microsatellite Negai lifts off On May 21, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced the successful liftoff of its H-IIA F17 rocket carrying a four-satellite payload that includes the Venus Climate Orbiter Akatsuki and Negai, a microsatellite developed by Soka University engineering students led by Dr. Seiji Kuroki, professor of information systems science.
