In Prof. Aytun’s seminar, students complete an analysis of an organization of their choice, use management science tools to provide a solution to a challenge they have identified and make recommendations that are implementable in that organization. They visit companies abroad to observe in-situ how an organization operates outside Japan and how it capitalizes on opportunities unique to that country. Students also have the opportunity to practice the languages they speak and improve their cross-cultural communication skills. In August, Prof. Aytun and his students visited the Singapore office of Hawksford. 11 students who participated met the COO of the company, people and administration manager and the business development manager. Students were briefed on the operation of Hawksford in Singapore and had the opportunity to obtain answers to their questions to better understand how the theory they have learned in their courses are applied in practice.
