Intermediate Macroeconomics

The most important macroeconomic issues will be investigated in rigorous and unified fashion. The following are topics to be discussed in this class: issues related to periodic fluctuations, causes and effects of unemployment and inflation, the determinants of economic growth, fiscal and monetary policies and their effectiveness in enhancing economic performances. Macroeconomics is an intriguing field in economics since it focuses on an entire economy and attempts to provide some answers to “real-world” questions related to unemployment, income disparity, depression, and government budget deficits. To answer these questions we will follow an integrated approach with the aid of the course textbook.
