On March 4 (Friday), Soka University President Yoshihisa Baba and Director Isao Takagi of the Japan Studies Center, who was already in Singapore, visited Singapore Management University, where an academic partnership was signed between this university and Soka University.
The signing ceremony took place on the occasion of the opening ceremony of an International Seminar on Global Peace & Understanding hosted by the Wee Kim Wee Centre of Singapore Management University. This opening ceremony was attended by 150 people including representatives from universities, research institutes, and NGOs of Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Philippines, and Cambodia, as well as Soka University alumni living in Singapore.
President Arnoud De Meyer of Singapore Management University stated that an exchange with Soka University, which upholds humanistic education, holds great significance for his university, which aims to foster global citizens.

Singapore Management University was founded in 2000 with the purpose of fostering leaders and entrepreneurs that are capable of responding to an age full of changes. With six schools, 21 postgraduate programmes, and 11 institutes, the number of students is approximately 7,300, out of which 12% are foreign students. Together with the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University, the university is among the top three universities in Singapore in QS ranking* in the field of business and management studies. Singapore Management University has an exchange partnership with over 200 universities.

With this, the number of Soka University academic partnerships totals 179 universities in 52 countries and regions around the world.
