On June 17 (Monday), Vice President Su Chun Hui of China’s Changchun Normal University and his party visited Soka University’s Central Education Tower “Global Square” and met with President Yoshihisa Baba and others.

Changchun Normal University was established in 1958 as “Changchun Teachers Special Course School,” and it was renamed in 1963 to “Changchun Teachers School” and in 1981 to “Changchun Teachers Institute.” Since 2013 it has retained the name, “Changchun Normal University.” The university consists of 21 faculties, such as for literature, foreign languages, history/culture, education, economic management, political science and law, music, art, mathematics, chemistry, life sciences, and geographical science, with 74 majors and 14 research institutes.

At the meeting, Vice President Su shared: “I hope that, through exchanges of faculty and students between Soka University and Changchun Normal University, we can see the development of both universities and can deepen the friendship between Japan and China.”
