Footage introducing the Institute of Plankton Eco-engineering, which was newly established in September 2020, was publicly released.
Soka University has newly proposed a research field of “plankton eco-engineering,” which aims to use the functions that plankton possesses, and the institute is engaged in various projects.

While planktons are very small lifeforms that cannot be seen with the human eye in most cases, they support the function of an enormous amount of living things in aquatic environments such as oceans, rivers, and lakes. By making use of the functions of plankton, which possess great possibilities in human society, we can conduct food production and waste disposal that cause less burden on our environment.
