The 2nd South Asia Research Center Online International Symposium

    The 2nd South Asia Research Center Online International Symposium organized by the South Asia Research Center was held for two days, on November 26th and 27th, connecting various countries and regions through the internet, and broadcasting from our university campus.

    Until this point, our university has implemented education and research exchange with St. Stephen's College of the University of Delhi and Saint Xavier University in India through inter-university exchange agreements. The South Asia Research Center established in July 2019 engages in research and development related to South Asia, promotes the creation of a network between all universities from the region of South Asia and the universities in Japan, and engages as well in the promotion of partnerships between non-profit organizations and all related associations.

    The opening ceremony on the 26th was attended by around 350 faculty members, students, and researchers from our university. The opening ceremony keynote speech was delivered by prof. Atul Khosla, Vice-Chancellor of Shoolini University, India has signed the exchange agreement with our university. Following, prof. Shalini Gupta of Desh Bhagat University, India extended her greetings, and afterward, Mr. Yasunori Tashiro, the Soka University Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, expressed hopes of a successful symposium. After the opening ceremony, discussions on each of the section topics continued throughout the 27th.
