The exchange agreement signing ceremony with the Kingdom of Belgium’s EPHEC University College and the University of Namur took place on Monday 5th December in Tokyo. Soka University’s President Masashi Suzuki and Vice President Masaru Osanai both attended.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Her Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium, who was visiting Japan as part of the Belgian Economic Mission.
The exchange agreement was decided in 2018, and the University of Namur’s President Annick Castiaux, who came to Japan in order to resign the agreement, spoke with President Suzuki before the ceremony, saying, “We’re aiming to build a peaceful society, and I hope these exchanges can contribute to both countries.”

Further, EPHEC University College’s President Emmanuelle Havrenne, who came to Soka University 6 days later in order to sign a new agreement, said, “We hope to raise people that will carry the next generation through exchanges with Soka University, who is promoting global education.”
