Soka University International Scholarship Award Ceremony

    On Friday 9th December, in Room AB103 at the university, the Soka University International Scholarship Award Ceremony was held for exchange students, accredited exchange students, and 1-semester language exchange students going on exchange abroad.
    This group of exchange students includes 29 students going to universities in 9 regions: Australia, Zambia, China, Taiwan, Korea, America, Hungary, Austria, and Uzbekistan.

    During the award ceremony, Vice President Ryohei Tanaka gave a speech, saying, “Those that create value on the world stage are citizens of the world. Turn your struggles into strength and enjoy a meaningful study abroad.” Afterward, 3rd-year International Liberal Arts student Wakaba Omori said, “During my study abroad, I want to gain experience working while contributing to the local community, and I want to create a starting point from which society can surpass itself in the future.” In addition, 3rd-year Literature student Hidekazu Ishikawa said, “I am holding on to the knowledge that getting to study abroad isn’t a given, and I will take on many challenges, starting with my studies.”

    After giving out the scholarship awards, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Yasunori Tashiro gave a cheer, saying, “Go out and make friends, learn the language and culture from all over the world, and come back to the university has grown greatly. We will be hoping for your successful studies abroad!”
