About the university's future response to the Novel Coronavirus Infectious Disease (COVID-19) [From April 1, 2023]

Soka University Guidelines for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreaks

Excerpts from the “Soka University Guidelines for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreaks”

    Precautions for daily life
・We ask that you strive to manage your health on a daily basis and encourage the "five basics of infection prevention" (if you are worried about your physical condition or have symptoms, you should either rest at home or visit a medical institution, wear a mask and practice cough etiquette according to the situation, avoid crowded areas, ventilate, wash your hands, and take moderate exercise and eat well).
・Regarding masks, we will respect the choice made independently by individuals and we will not require the wearing of masks. However, wearing a mask has been shown to be effective as a measure to prevent infection, especially for people who are at high risk of severe illness and in protecting themselves from infection during the COVID-19 pandemic.
・If you not only have a fever but also have unusual symptoms such as a sore throat and cough, please do not overdo it and rest to recuperate.
・As part of your own health management, please use the "Temperature Measurement Record System" on the university's portal site.
If you are infected with COVID-19 or were in close contact with someone who was infected, etc., please check the "Soka University Guidelines for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreaks" (link posted) for details.

After May 8th, when the disease will be reclassified to a Class 5 infectious disease, the measures taken may change based on the government’s announcement. Classes that will be conducted online will be announced on the student portal site PLAS and the university website, so please check regularly. The Soka University Activity Restriction Policy will stop on March 31st.
In addition, please check the following items.

    About class management

As announced on the website and portal site on February 21st, the Class Implementation Policy for the 2023 academic year (Class Implementation) will be conducted based on face-to-face classes on campus. Please check the portal site for information on class management such as excused absences.

    Use of Facilities

Each building and facility will be operated under normal opening hours. As soon as the details are finalized, we will inform you on the portal site.

We would like to thank all students, faculty, and staff for their continued understanding of and cooperation with infection prevention measures.
