8 researchers /staff of Soka University visited Ethiopia for a week from October 28 as a delegation group for Soka University Research Branding Project.

The delegation was mainly made up of the PLANE3T research theme 3 “Commercialization and Business Modeling” and theme 4 “Environmental and Economic Education”. They conducted theme-based research in Addis Ababa, the capital of the country and the political and economic hub for Eastern Africa, visiting institutions such as Ministry of Health or private companies like confectionary.
As a result, UNEP Liaison Office took notice of the PLANE3T’s vision and activities which overlap SDGs and could contribute Ethiopia’s dilemma where high awareness of environmental challenges and hurdle to practical solution coexist.

Moving on to Bahir Dar and Injibara, each theme groups discussed research plan with their Ethiopian counterparts in collaborative universities in each town. They also visited elementary schools and observed condition of feeding service or awareness-raising on environment.
