PLANE3T Project Theme 2 Delegation Visits Ethiopian Research Collaborators

    Substantive Collaborative Research Sets off

Three academics from Faculty of Science and Engineering visited Ethiopia as a delegation of Soka University Research branding Project (PLANE3T Project) for a week from January 24, 2019.

For this occasion the delegation was made up of the PLANE3T research theme 2 “Phytoplankton Cultivation”. Visiting their collaborating institute Bahir Dar University, they had a discussion meeting on drafted agreement of the collaborative research, with 14 counterpart Ethiopian researchers including those from Injibara University. Above all, an agenda that made the debate most elaborate was on construction of cultivation pond for Spilurina, since this microalga native to Ethiopia is the main shaft of the project.

As an approach to young researchers and students to realize the project’s goal “constructing a sustainable recycling society”, Dr. Hirut (Bahi Dar University) and Dr. Kishi held workshop on algae isolation. And one of the participants has taken charge of maintaining the experiment.
