【FILA】Fieldwork in Malaysia has begun!
After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international fieldwork in Malaysia has resumed, with 16 participants arriving in Kuala Lumpur on February 25th (Sunday)! The International Fieldwork is a unique short-term overseas program of the Faculty of International Liberal Arts. Participants have extensively studied and deepened their research on Malaysian history, economy, politics, society, culture, and religion during the fall semester. Over the next two weeks until March 10th (Sunday), participants will study research methods at the University of Malaya and then conduct fieldwork in various locations in Malaysia, and present their research findings in a final presentation.
Participants shared their thoughts such as "It's my first time in Malaysia, and there are many unfamiliar things, but I'm excited to learn in this fresh environment during the two-week program." Others shared, "There are many new discoveries, and the classes are enjoyable. Most importantly, the local student buddy support team has been very reassuring, assisting with everything from airport transfers to classroom support."
