On February 27th (Tuesday), the 6th FILARESearch Seminar was held in Conference Room 8. The presenter was Professor Zainal Abidin　Sanusi, Director of the Sejahtera Center at the International Islamic University Malaysia, who was visiting Japan for conferences at the United Nations University and other venues. The presentation title was "Communiversity: A Case Study of Mainstreaming New University Model for Sustainable Social Impact." Professor Zainal Abidin emphasized that instead of focusing on indicators such as world university rankings, education should highlight its impact on society. He advocated for the importance of acquiring necessary knowledge and skills through engagement with real-world situations outside the classroom. As a specific practice, he explained the activities of implementing a problem-solving project for all first-year students at　IIUM. This philosophy resonates greatly with our university's vision of being the highest institution of humanistic education and the founder's guidance that "universities exist to serve those who could not attend them." The seminar received many accolades for this concrete commitment to the university as a whole and was followed by an active question-and-answer session.
