I learnt with pleasure that Soka University will be celebrating its 50th birthday in April 2021. On behalf of all the staff and students of Hubei University, I would like to extend our sincere congratulations to you and your colleagues on this important milestone for your university.

Over the past 50 years, Soka University, adhering to your founding principle of "Be a fortress for the peace of humankind" and carrying on your goal of serving the development of your country, has made pioneering explorations with constant progress and outstanding achievements. Your dedicated teachers and professors have worked hard and educated thousands of students. Many of them become professionals in all walks of professional life, which has made great contribution to the development of your country. By receiving excellent education and training skills from your university, students from Japan as well as overseas countries have applied their skills and knowledge to facilitate intercommunication across linguistic and cultural barriers. Such efforts of yours have helped the international nd philosophies can meet, interact and develop peacefully and productively.

Thank you very much for your kind invitation to me to attend the grand celebration for your 50th Anniversary. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend your celebration due to the in fluence of the spread of the COVID-19. I'd like to take this opportunity to convey our congratulations for your events. I trust that you will have a very successful 50th Anniversary celebration, and I have every confidence that the Soka University will grow from strength to strength under your far-sighted leadership.
