Chinese Culture University
Shing-Ching Shyu
President

I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations on the 50th anniversary of Soka University.

Your esteemed university, founded under the founding principles of “Be the highest seat of learning for humanistic education,” “Be the cradle of a new culture,” and “Be a fortress for the peace of humankind” in 1971 has been tirelessly taking initiatives to foster creative individuals.

Since the start of our partnership in 1995, Soka University and Chinese Culture University have carried out various exchanges for the past 26 years. We invited the former Vice President, Professor Masami Kita, to a conference of university presidents from Japan, China, and South Korea in 2001, and welcomed the symphony orchestra of your esteemed university in 2005. In 2006, we had the honor of conferring an honorary doctorate upon Mr. Hiromasa Ikeda, the Soka Gakkai Vice President. In addition, in the year before last, we received a congratulatory message for our university’s anniversary from President Baba and had a friendly baseball match with the Soka University baseball team. Once again, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to your esteemed university.

Furthermore, our university is honored to be the first in Taiwan to establish a Daisaku Ikeda Research Center and to have had opportunities to learn the profound wisdom of Dr. Ikeda, including his thoughts on peace.

Due to the current global pandemic, we are unable to celebrate Soka University’s anniversary in person, however, I would like to visit your campus when the pandemic ease.

Lastly, I sincerely wish for the success and advancement of your esteemed university and the further development of the Japan-Taiwan relationship.
