At the the 50th anniversary of Saka University, I would like to extend most sincere congratulations on behalf of all faculties and students of Shanghai University.

For the past two decades, Shanghai University has enjoyed the partnership with Soka University. The founder of Soka University, Mr. Daisaku Ikeda, has always been committed to friendship with China. As early as 1998, our late president Prof. Chien Wei-zang led a delegation to visit your institution, and since then, exchanges between two universities initiated.

Around 2000, our two universities started regular faculty and student exchanges. We are grateful to the support to and care of our faculties given by your side, during their visit to Japan. In the meantime, we are also pleased to host your students in our campus. With exchange of ideas, our friendship developed. I am looking forward to a closer cooperation and partnership in the future.

Last but not the least, while still fighting against the pandemic in a global scale, I would also like to extend our warm greetings to your faculties and students. And we are pleased to work together with you to overcome all difficulties and to welcome a healthy, bright future.
