On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Soka University, I'd like to express my sincere congratulations to Soka University on behalf of Dalian Polytechnic University. I'd also like President Yoshihisa Baba to convey my sincere greetings to Mr. Daisaku Ikeda.
Dalian Polytechnic University was founded in 1958. With engineering technology as its key discipline, it has 5 other strong disciplines: science, art、literature, management and economics. The university has been famous for its features of cultivating talents in the fields of food science, light industry, textile process and art & design. Dalian Polytechnic University has always been valuing exchanges with Japan and has been much more valuing cooperation with Soka University.
In 2009, we had the honor to have Mr. Daisaku Ikeda as our honorary professor of the university, which officially launched the cooperation between the two universities. The two universities signed a friendly cooperation agreement in 2012. Since then our exchange between the two universities has developed at a faster pace. The past few years have seen many mutual visits of delegation teams headed by presidents of the two universities. And every year more than 10 delegation.teams of staff and students from Soka University came to our university for exchange activities like reading seminars and art performances. Also, more than 30 students from our university went to your university for study activities in the form of "2 + 2" and "3 + 1" or other exchange activities.
Years of cooperation and exchange activities have enhanced the understanding between the two universities as well as the understanding and friendship between the young students of the two countries, and also have helped lay the foundation for further exchanges and cooperation in the future.
At this important milestone in your history, on behalf of myself and all the teaching faculty and students of Dalian Polytechnic University, I'd like to offer Soka University our sincerest congratulations on your many achievements over the past 50 years. Warmest congratulations to Soka University for being selected for the Top Global University Project initiated by the Japanese government to lead the globalization of Japanese universities and best wishes for great success of Soka University on the initiatives to foster global citizens through exchange programs with your global network across 63 countries and diverse educational programs.
Finally, on behalf of Dalian Polytechnic University, I'd like to express our hope that we build a bridge of friendship between China and Japan through the cooperation between the two universities in the future. Wish Soka University great development and prosperity.
