I'm so delighted to know that Soka University will hold the ceremony of celebrating the 50th anniversary of university. On behalf of all staff and students of Huaiyin Normal University (HNU), I want to send my sincere gratitude and wish to all staff of Soka University and alumni at home and abroad.
Since 2012, lots of leaders and teachers of Soka Gakkai and Soka University have paid a visit to HNU. In October 2018, the activity of celebrating the I 20th anniversary of Premier Zhou Enlai's birth was held. Meantime, HNU held the ceremony of celebrating the 60th anniversary of school. At that moment, Soka University and HNU signed the agreement and established the friendly relationship. Also, HNU held a grand ceremony of employing Daisaku Ikeda as HNU honorary professor, and President Yoshihisa Baba was authorized by Daisaku Ikeda to accept the Letter of Appointment. It has been a great milestone for the friendly relationship between HNU and Soka University. Mr. Daisaku Ikeda has been dedicating to the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relations, and he had a profound feeling to Premier Zhou Enlai. Here, please allow me to express my sincere respect to Mr. Daisaku Ikeda and all people contributing a lot to Sino-Japanese friendly relationship.
Soka University has been fostering globally individuals who can contribute to the greater benefit of humanity by focusing on active international exchange projects that embody the founding principle of "Be a fortress for the peace of humankind" for half a century. Soka University was selected for the Top Global University Project initiated by the Japanese government, and it has become a vital force to lead the globalization of Japanese universities, promote the global competitive ability of Japanese high education, and enhance the progress of humankind peace, maintain the peaceful development all over the world. All the achievements have benefited a lot from the leaders of Soka University, who attached much more importance to the internationalized education and made a scientific scheme for the school long-term development. Until now, the Covid-19 pandemic has temporarily hindered the cross-border communication between Soka University and HNU. However, it cannot obstruct the good expectation and urgent demanding of deepening cooperation and communication for Soka University and HNU. I sincerely hope that we can strengthen the cooperation in various levels, aspects and categories, and we can promote the friendly relationship in a further way. Let's make our contributions to the Sino-Japanese friendly exchanges.
