With most sincerity, I am extending my heartful congratulation from National Sun Yat-sen University for the grand 5Oth-anniversary celebration of Soka University.

For such a meaningful and significant event at a very trying time, I would like to share with you that NSYSU had celebrated the 40th anniversary last November. Still vividly remembered, the pandemic swept across the globe so quickly that it brought overwhelming challenges and uncertainties. Taiwan acted quickly from the very early stage of the pandemic with strict measures and had been fortunate to remain one of the world's safest places till now. In such an unprecedented time, NSYSU's anniversary celebration was meaningful and memorable. I am confident that the celebration for Soka University will be remarkable and unforgettable.

As we had a chance to reflect on the past, appreciate the moment, and envision the future, I am fully aware of the responsibilities and contributions of a higher education institution going beyond university faculty and students into the community, the greater society, and internationally.Fostering global citizens is a common goal of both Soka University and NSYSU. I am confident that we will work together to continue and strengthen international exchanges and collaboration for students and faculty in the post-pandemic era. Again, great success on the 50th-anniversary celebration!
