I am very pleased to hear of the 50th anniversary of Soka University. On behalf of all the faculty, staff and students of Shaanxi Normal University, I would like to extend my warm congratulations and sincere greetings to the faculty, staff and students of Soka University.

Since its establishment in 1971, Soka University embodies the founding spit-it laid out by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations, the University has accomplished many outstanding achievements in talent training and scientific research, and has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the development of Japan.

China and Japan enjoy profound traditional friendship and time-honored historical friendship. As Shaanxi Normal University and Soka University are both famous institutions in both countries, we jointly constituted the Reseru·ch Center for Daisaku Ikeda & Kaneko Ikeda in Shaanxi Normal University after establishing the friendly tie, and a series of substantive cooperation programs, such as joint double degrees, academic conferences and international Chinese education, are steadily advancing. The accomplishments of cooperation are gradually emerging, and the future of cooperation is very promising.

State-to-state relations lie in amity between the people. Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, the founder, with Soka University has long been committed to promoting friendly exchanges between Chinese and Japanese people and to enhancing people-to-people exchange between the two countries. At the same time, Shaanxi Normal University is looking forward to working with Soka University to promote academic exchange and cooperation between the two universities to a higher level, and to contribute to the mutual understanding and lasting friendship between the people of both countries.
