It is with joyful happiness that the Federal University of Paraná congratulates Soka University for its 50 years of life.

The relationship between the Federal University of Paraná and Soka University began in 1973 and has consisted of uninterrupted activities until today, thus contributing to the academic and professional development of more than 100 exchange students from both countries. More recently, this collaboration has also involved specialists in the teaching of Japanese language and culture, which helped us in the process of structuring and maintaining the Japanese language undergraduate program at UFPR. It is the only program in the State of Paraná and it has been responsible for the training of Japanese language and culture teachers who work mainly in the Southern region of Brazil.

It is a great honor for us to be part of this long-standing history and we would like to profit from this opportunity to reaffirm our lasting commitment with the strengthening of the cultural and scientific relations between Brazil and Japan.

The Federal University of Paraná is proud to be a partner of Soka University, a partnership which makes a difference in the life and history of our nations, as well as in the history of our institutions.
