From former President Ishikawa, I am honored to take on the responsibility of President of Soka Women’s College. As the new President, I am determined to build a castle for women’s education, envisioning a college that embodies our founding spirit and carries on our exceptional school spirit and traditions. Last April, Soka Women’s College launched its Department of Global Business Studies, which will complete it’s first cycle this academic year. In response to society’s globalization, we established a framework that enables students to acquire a proper balance of fundamental business theory and skills, as well as learn English in a practical way. While looking towards their future career paths, students can choose from our focused curriculum on subjects such as “global,” “business hospitality,” “bookkeeping and accounting” and “information.” Our goal is to educate students who are needed on the front lines of business, in various social scenes and in our global society. This April, students who came from around the country to enter this new department last year will be joined by this academic year’s incoming class, setting into motion the creation of a new culture. Our top priority is to demonstrate to the fullest extent the educational achievements made over the course of these two years. This academic year marks the time to create a new foundation for the future of our college’s education. In addition to incorporating special english programs and special business classes, as well as enhancing the global business curriculum and improving education quality, I will devote myself to the education of our students and to fulfill our education goals. I hope to make 2019 a year of great progress, one in which we will complete the Department of Global Business Studies and prepare for the founding 35th anniversary. 1956年熊本県生まれ。創価高校、創価大学の4期生。経済学部を 卒業後、創価大学大学院・博士後期課程を満期退学。経済学修 士。専門は経営学。短大開学より教鞭を執り、講師、准教授を経て 教授。入試部長、学生部長などを歴任し、現代ビジネス学科長、副 学長を経て、2019年より学長に就任。研究テーマは「人間主義と マネジメント」。業績として『多国籍企業と人間主義-社会貢献と 平和』『創価女子短期大学紀要』（中国語、英語で翻訳）など多数。 Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1956. 4th graduating class of Soka High School and Soka University. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Masters in Economics, specializing in business administration. Together with the opening of Soka Women’s College, served as a lecturer, associate professor and subsequently professor. Also notable appointments as Dean of Admissions, Dean of Student Affairs, also Dean of Department of Modern Business, Vice President, and appointed President from this academic year. His main research theme is “Humanism and Management” and notable literary works are “Multinational Enterprise and Humanism-Social contribution and Peace” and “Soka Women’s College Bulletin” (also translated into both Chinese and English) 　このたび、石川前学長の後を受け、創価女子短期大学の学長 の大役を担うことになった。 「創立の精神」脈打つ短大を目指 し、本学のよき校風、伝統を受け継ぎ、新学長として総力を挙げ て、人間教育・女性教育の幸福城を構築していく決意である。 　創価女子短期大学は昨年４月に「国際ビジネス学科」がス タート、本年いよいよ完成年度を迎える。 　グローバル化が進む現代社会にあって、ビジネスに関する 基礎的な理論やスキルをバランスよく身につけ、英語を実践 的に学ぶことのできる体制を整えた。また、「グローバル」「ビ ジネスホスピタリティ」「簿記・会計」「情報」の各分野につい て、卒業後の進路を視野に入れて選択し、重点的に学ぶこと ができるカリキュラムを編成し、ビジネスの第一線で、社会の さまざまなシーンで、またグローバル社会で、必要とされる人 材の育成を教育目標に掲げている。 　昨年、全国から集った新学科の１期生に加え、本年度は２期 生が揃い新たな伝統構築への胎動が始まっている。この２年 間で目指すべき教育の成果をどれだけ示すことができるかが 最優先課題と考えている。 　本年度は、未来に続く新たな短大教育の土台を作るときで ある。英語特別プログラムとビジネス特設クラスを軌道にの せ、国際ビジネス学科の教育内容の充実と教育の質の向上を 図るとともに、本学が目指す教育目標にかなう学生の育成に 尽力したい。そして、学科完成年度としてさらなる飛躍の一年 とし、開学35周年へ向けての準備を進めてまいりたい。 Soka Women’s College President Noboru Mizumoto 創価女子短期大学 学長 水元 昇 創価女子短期大学 学長ヴィジョン Soka Women’s College President's Vision 2019 「創立の精神」 脈打つ 人材の育成 1： カリキュラム改革 2： 英語教育の充実 3： 資格取得への支援 1 学習支援の充実 1： 学習サポート 2： イングリッシュ・ラウンジ 3： 土曜講座 1： 奨学金制度　　 2： 進路支援 4 学生支援 5 教員の研究・教育活動の 活性化と教員業績評価の取り組み 6 教育内容の充実　 2 入学者選抜の 充実 3 06 SUN101 2019 Spring 創価女子短期大学に 新学長が誕生
