Khor Hui Min, a Malaysian student, embarked on a transformative journey at Soka University's Graduate School of International Peace Studies (SIPS) in 2019 as part of the second batch of students. Prior to this, in 2018, while studying as a non-degree student at Soka University, she discovered the SIPS program. Captivated by Soka University's humanistic education and values, Hui Min eagerly seized the opportunity to enroll in SIPS, driven by her desire to broaden her horizons and contribute to global peace.

Hui Min’s decision stemmed from her innate curiosity about world peace and her longing to contribute to global peace. The program's unique combination of international relations and peace studies provided her with a comprehensive understanding of global affairs. While navigating through SIPS, Hui Min encountered numerous challenges. Adapting to an English-speaking environment and the field of International Relations initially posed difficulties. However, through perseverance and dedication, Hui Min honed her language skills and cultivated a strong foundation in critical thinking. She found herself engaged in thought-provoking discussions with peers from diverse backgrounds, expanding her worldview and fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity.
SIPS not only equipped Hui Min with a profound understanding of global affairs but also prepared her for her current career as a training development officer for teachers at Soka International School Malaysia (SISM). The skill of effective communication and compassionate listening, nurtured during her time at SIPS, will undoubtedly prove invaluable as she engages with teachers from different countries and backgrounds. Armed with a global perspective and the ability to understand diverse viewpoints, Hui Min is poised to make significant contributions to the field of humanistic education in Malaysia.

Hui Min's message to current and future SIPS students is to embrace the journey, irrespective of the challenges they may face. By believing in themselves and cherishing the learning opportunities that SIPS offers, students can unleash their true potential and develop into compassionate global citizens.
