March 24, 2016 Soka University Holds SA Training Session
On March 24, 2016, Soka University held a Student Assistant (SA) training session for students in the Faculties of Economics and Letters.
Student Assistants (SAs) are senior students who serve as assistants to a class to facilitate the learning of junior students. This initiative is part of the AP project.
This year, about 30 students from the Faculties of Business Administration and Letters joined the training. During the training, the students participated in Project Adventure (PA) activities, which will be incorporated into the freshman curriculum starting this year. They also explored ropes courses at a PA facility.
After the activities, the students reflected on their learning experience individually, discussed how to facilitate the PA activities, and attended a short lecture. Lastly, they did several exercises to learn how to run the activities safely and smoothly.
Faculty members and SAs are devoting their efforts to organizing a PA program for students who will enroll this year.
