September 7, 2016 – Soka University holds follow-up training for the Faculty of Letters

We invited Masaki Nakamichi, Professor at Ehime University, as the instructor for the “Teaching Design Workshop: Follow-up Training” held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Room AE256 in Global Square. Ehime University is certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an institution available for shared use of resources. The certificate allows the university to serve as a place for faculty development.
This follow-up training was for teachers in the Faulty of Letters who had participated in the teaching design workshop held in the spring. In the training, the faculty members reviewed the teaching they had designed at the spring workshop to share their knowledge and techniques that helped them go through improvement cycles on their own. More precisely, the participants worked in groups for hands-on experience in a series of processes spanning from shaping an idea for teaching, to designing, implementing, and evaluating it. Then they discussed the experience to put together a list of useful suggestions. Sixteen faculty members attended this training.
