Professor Shinomiya of Soka University Faculty of Science and Engineering Gives Keynote Lecture at International Conference

    Professor Norihiko Shinomiya of Soka University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering gave a keynote lecture on July 6 at the 7th International Conference on Computing, Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT’16) held in Denton, Texas, in the United States, sponsored by the University of North Texas (UNT).

    In his lecture, he shared information from his field of expertise, some of which regards a very new trend involving design theory for elevating the reliability and efficiency of information and communications networks, and he also introduced Soka University and its engagement in international exchanges. As a commemorative gift for the lecture, he was presented with a bronze sculpture of an American eagle, a symbol of UNT.

    The conference was attended not only by academic institutions such as universities but also by a wide range of researchers from industrial circles, and the most updated research results related to computer, communications, and network technology were discussed. The conference this time was attended by close to 100 researchers from around the world with approximately 50 research results presented, out of which three were presented by graduate students of Soka University.

    Professor Shinomiya commented how greatly honored he was to have this precious opportunity to elevate the presence of Soka University. This was also an opportunity to deepen academic exchange with UNT. He shared his determination to continue to play an active role internationally and to contribute to Soka University’s globalization.
