School for Excellence in Educational Development

Soka University launched the School for Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) in April 2010 as an umbrella organization encompassing the World Language Center, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL). SEED was established to develop initiatives to enhance the university's baccalaureate degree program, including various classroom disciplines, evaluations and improvements, based on a common platform incorporating the needs of general education courses and specialized courses taught by its respective faculties. It represents another element in the realization of Soka's founding mandate to foster individuals who will lead truly creative and contributive lives.

Additionally, the university established the Faculty Development Committee in 2008 to support and upgrade the pedagogical and research activities of its faculty members, as well as promoting coordination between instructors. The Global Citizenship Program, which was launched in 2010, also serves as a core component of Soka University to develop students who seek careers at international agencies and enterprises.
