Soka University Thailand Office

As part of the initiative to support the creation of Top Global University, which was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2014, the Soka University Thailand Office was established at Thammasat University on June 28, 2016. In addition to providing information and consultations to Thai students who are considering studying in Japan, the office is also engaged in a variety of activities, such as supporting students studying in Thailand and strengthening cooperation with partner universities in Thailand.

International exchange

Academic Exchange

In order to develop and promote friendly exchanges with Thailand, Soka University formally concluded an inter-university exchange agreement with Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in 1975, and has since increased the number of exchanges to four universities. In total, the university has concluded academic exchange agreements with 246 universities in 66 countries and regions around the world (as of the end of June 2023), and is promoting student and faculty exchanges and research exchanges through exchange programs, double degree programs, short-term overseas training, and more.

Soka University Campus

Soka University is located in Hachioji, a university town on the outskirts of Tokyo. The vast campus, which stands tall in the lush Tama Hills and covers an area of approximately 870,000 m2, is an ideal environment for nurturing human resources who can contribute to academics and society.

It is located 4km north from JR Hachioji Station, about 20 minutes by bus. It takes about 40 minutes from Shinjuku to Hachioji Station on the JR Chuo Line or Keio Line (private railway). It also takes about 45 minutes from Shin-Yokohama Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen on the JR Yokohama Line.

Opening times vary depending on the day, so please contact us in advance if you plan to visit.

Do you provide support for obtaining visas etc?

A

If you are accepted, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility from International Affairs Department of Soka University, so please apply for it at the Japanese embassy in your country. If you have all the requirements and documents required by the university and have not violated any laws beforehand, there will be no problem. You will be responsible for visa applications, but we can give you advice.

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 infection, there may be changes to application procedures, so please be sure to check the website of the Japanese Embassy in your country or check with International Affairs Department of Soka University.

I would like to know more about Soka University. Are there any events such as information sessions or open campus events? Also, I am planning to go to Japan. Is there an opportunity to participate in a campus tour?

Every year, we hold an entrance exam information session in Thailand.
