Career Center Information

What is a Career Center?

As social conditions change, with globalization and the demand for highly specialized professionals, many universities are strengthening their support for career paths and job hunting. Soka University dissolved its Career Development Department and established a Career Center in September 2004.

With the concept of "All of student life is career design," we aim to be an "information dissemination base" for each student to have a meaningful student life by providing hints and the latest information such as "career path," "student life goals," and "skills students should acquire during their time at university." We also define student life as a "preparation period for entering society," and provide support to connect students' future dreams with their student life.

Career Center Vision & Mission

Soka University Career Center has the following vision and mission:

Vision
  • A career center that develops talent to pave the way for their own future
  • A career center that contributes to society and develops "indispensable human resources" in the workplace
  • The Career Center aims to foster talent with the "Soka University Spirit" in the hopes of promoting the development of the university.
Mission
  • For students, they are a "bridge between society and school" and a "big supporter in deciding their career path."

Career Center Facilities

Career Center Office/Reception Desk

The Career Center office is located on the first floor Global Square. It receives visitors and handles general administrative procedures related to career and employment.

Career Design Station/Career Counseling Room

To help students think about their careers and work in their daily lives, we have provided a reading space with books on jobs and qualifications, newspapers, business magazines, and specialist magazines.
*During long school holidays (summer vacation: August, spring vacation: February to March), we accept visitors and handle administrative procedures here in the afternoons.

We provide a wide range of consultations regarding career paths and employment for first through fourth year students, including those who want to clarify their future dreams and career paths, those who want to know how to get a specific job, and those who want advice and preparation for job hunting.

Career Seminar Room

The Career Center hosts various events. The room is equipped with large monitors and other audiovisual equipment, and is used for seminars by companies and small-scale discussion meetings.

Interview Booth

A booth for online interviews has been set up in the Career Design Station. All current students can use it by making a reservation.
