Learning through international programs and industry-academia collaboration projects is very practical. Legal Profession

Students will acquire legal thinking skills that will enable them to resolve conflicts of interest in a balanced manner.
Business Law Course
We aim to obtain qualifications such as the Business Law Examination, Financial Planner, Social Insurance and Labor Consultant, and Tax Accountant.

A wide variety of international programs
The school offers a wide range of unique study abroad programs, including exchange programs (scholarships available) with the University of Warwick in the UK and the University of Oslo in Norway. In addition, the Faculty of Faculty of Law 's Peace, Human Rights & Sustainability program is a program in which students learn about international peace issues, human rights issues, and environmental issues from the perspectives of law and policy in English. The school aims to develop human resources who can play an active role in the international community by acquiring more specialized English reading, discussion, presentation, and writing skills.

First year
Acquire knowledge that will serve as the foundation for diverse learning
The required subject "Fundamentals of Law and the SDGs" teaches the basics of law and the relationship between specialized Faculty of Law subjects and the SDGs, and the "First-Year Seminar" allows students to collect materials on legal or policy issues, read and understand them, think for themselves, and acquire the basic skills to express their opinions verbally and in writing. Second Year
"Course learning" tailored to your interests begins
In the specialized education from the second year onwards, students will acquire the ability to apply knowledge to society and communication skills based on the advanced specialized knowledge acquired through lecture courses. In the Legal Profession Course, students will consider solutions to real-life disputes through case problems and case studies in legal seminars for seven main subjects, including constitutional law, and will develop application skills by tackling issues related to the application of actual laws and the operation of various systems. In other courses, students will research set issues in groups, think of solutions, and make presentations in the "Business & Law Workshop I-III" (Business Law Course), "Public Policy Workshop A & B" (Public Policy and Administration Course), and "Global Peace and Coexistence Workshop" (Global Peace and Coexistence Course). Through these, students will develop creative thinking skills that allow them to comprehensively utilize the knowledge they have acquired and apply it to problems in society to think of ways to solve problems. In addition, in the specialized seminars starting in the fall semester of the second year, students will develop communication skills that allow them to logically explain the reasons for their opinions and reconcile diverse opinions in issues where opinions are conflicting. Through these applied subjects, subjects involving collaborative group work, and active learning, students will develop the ability to apply knowledge to society and communication skills.
3rd and 4th year
Students will learn practically through seminars, fieldwork, workshops, and other activities.

In the "Hachioji City Development Fieldwork," "Human Security Fieldwork," and "Global Peace and Coexistence Fieldwork," students will develop the ability to listen to voices on the ground, identify issues, and think of ways to resolve them. In the internships for each course, students will gain the ability to think of more realistic ways to resolve issues by learning about actual work.

Main career paths after graduation
In addition to diplomats, the school has also produced successful candidates for global careers, such as with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In addition, some graduates have used their legal expertise and study abroad experience to find employment in major companies in a wide range of fields, including finance, consulting, construction, manufacturing, life insurance, non-life insurance, and mass media. The wide variety of career paths available after graduation is one of the major features of the Soka University Faculty of Law.
Qualifications that can be acquired
We have achieved the highest pass rate in national and local civil service examinations for seven consecutive years. Another feature of our university is the high pass rate for current students. We also rank first among Japanese higher education institutions established after the war in terms of pass rates for the bar exam. We have also produced international lawyers who are active around the world.
