Cultivating an international perspective on campus and improving language skills
The goal of language learning at Soka University is to "understand the culture of the country and acquire usable language skills." Enjoy discussions with international students from various countries and regions and develop an international perspective through cooperation. Exposure to different cultures will steadily improve your language skills.
Over 15 language subjects
WLC offers more than 15 language courses, including English, to foster global citizens. Through these courses, students will acquire foreign language skills and the ability to coexist in multiple cultures.
Various programs to help improve your language skills
In addition to classes and overseas training, WLC offers a variety of programs to support students in improving their language skills as an extracurricular activity. Conversation programs in up to 8 languages including English, English learning consultations, English correction, and preparation for IELTS and TOEFL iBT speaking tests are available depending on your purpose. All programs are held in the "WLC SAC" within the SPACe on the second floor of Global Square, and are run mainly by international students, student staff with overseas experience, and WLC faculty and staff.
Numerous events throughout the year
WLC hosts numerous events throughout the year, including program-related events and intensive English courses.
WLC Philippines University of The East Training
WLC runs an English language study program for about 10 days at University of The East the East, Philippines, one of our partner universities, every year during the spring and summer holidays.
