Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case at Soka University

    On Sunday, March 29th, 2020, a Soka University student has been confirmed to testing positive for the Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after receiving the PCR testing results. In response to this matter, we will inform you of the information that has been identified and how we will move forward with this situation.

    1. Confirmation of the student who tested positive
    1 female student 20’s

    2. Information on the students' activity
    Went back to hometown. Saturday, February 29th
    Fever. Friday, March 27th
    PCR testing. Saturday, March 28th
    Positive confirmation. Sunday, March 29th

    The student has been in her hometown since February 29th and currently, she is hospitalized at a designated medical institution. Please note that the student was not in contact with any student, faculty, staff, or anyone related to the university on campus prior to testing positive, since she has been in her hometown since February 29th.

    In response to this matter, we will examine all situations related to the Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the “Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Measures Committee”, which is set up at the University.
