“Soka University Activity Restriction Guidelines to Level 2” Gradual relaxation of rules regarding entering and using the campus (June 22nd, 2020)

    From Monday, June 22nd, the university will bring down the current level of the Activity Restriction Guidelines from level 3 to level 2. 
    The decision to bring down the level has been taken by referring to the situation of the spread of COVID-19 and prevention policies set by the National and Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In some cases, we may make an exemption depending on the situation. In that case, we will update the information through the Soka University website and portal site (PLAS).

    The current level and action range for each activity are as follows.

    Level 2 (Small-scale Restriction)

    Use of Facilities
    While paying the utmost attention to the “3 C’s (Closed Spaces, Crowded Places, and Close-Contact Settings)”, libraries, pc rooms, etc. will be available.
    ① For use of the libraries, please visit the library website for detailed information.
    ② For use of the PC rooms in SPACe, please visit PLAS for detailed information.
    *regarding ① and ②, only those who have reserved may enter. 

    Entry on Campus for Students, etc.
    In principle, avoid entering the campus. While paying the utmost attention to the “3 C’s”, only some facilities approved by the university can be used.

    Research Activities
    In principle, business trips are prohibited. Participating in or holding of research meetings such as for academic societies are also prohibited.

    Conducting research activities are allowed but while paying the utmost attention to prevent the spread of COVID-19, 

    Only a minimal number of people related to the laboratory can enter. Laboratory personnel shall make efforts to reduce the time spent in the lab while considering the possibilities of conducting research from home. 

    Classes
    In principle, classes will be conducted online. Only some experimental training subjects will have in-person classes while paying the utmost attention in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

    Extra-Curricular Activities
    In principle, extra-curricular activities are prohibited. However, if approved by the student department or the Executive Director for University Administration due to special circumstances, activities can be held with the utmost measures in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

    University Related Meetings
    Face-to-face meetings should be minimal and use online meeting systems as much as possible.

    Staff Work Schedule
    While paying the utmost attention to prevent infection, face-to-face office counters will be open for a short period of time, and in principle, all consultation will be done via e-mail or telephone. If necessary, face to face encounters needs to be approved ahead of time.
