On November 13th (Friday), the 2020 Fall Semester Honor Student Certificate and Conferral Ceremony, took place online and at Soka University New Loire Cafeteria. There were 94 students who were selected as honor students, had group discussions together with Chairman of the Board of Trustees Yasunori Tashiro and deans, faculty, and staff representatives.

Soka University’s honor student system aims to encourage those who obtain outstanding grades after they enter the university. Each semester, top GPA students are selected among students, who obtained 16 or more units, and incentives are provided.
At the conferral ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Tashiro shared, “I hope that all of you will continue to work and study hard with your friends to achieve your dreams. Please take this opportunity to do your best to be selected again next semester.”

Participating students shared the following comments:
I was able to stay focused without losing my pace, even though the classes were mainly online due to COVID-19. I will continue to do my best for my family and friends who support me, and I will continue to become stronger for the future. (Sophomore, Faculty of Economics)

I am happy to see that my hard work has paid off. I would like to use this as a confidence builder to acquire the skills needed in society and next year's job hunting. (Junior, Faculty of Letters)
