Changes to the University's Activity Restriction Policy

As reported in the media, the "intensive measures focused on specific areas to prevent the spread of the coronavirus ", which was issued on January 21st, 2022 was lifted on March 21st, 2022.
However, the number of newly infected people is moderately decreasing in Tokyo and other metropolitan areas, and at the university, we will continue to announce the number of infected.
After the graduation ceremony on the 18th of this month, preparations are now underway to welcome new students to campus.
As previously announced on the university website, all classes for the new academic year will be held "in principle as in-person classes", all items of the University's Activity Restriction Policy will change to "Level 1 (Partial Restriction)".

【All items changed to "Level 1 (Partial Restriction)"】
*Please refer to the website of each facility for details on facility usage hours and other information related to the easing of the activity restriction policy.

However, we still need to be careful with the spread of the Omicron strains (BA1 and BA2), so there is a possibility that the activity restriction policy level will be changed, or that the course implementation policy will be reviewed
Currently, the implementation of the third vaccination for workplace vaccination, including the government, is accelerating. Soon, Soka University will conduct the third vaccination for those who received the second vaccination around the middle or end of April. Details are on the portal site, so please be sure to check.
According to the behavioral history of infected people, the number of infections caused by dinner parties is increasing, so faculty, staff, and students should take the following countermeasures to prevent infection.

We would like to ask all students, faculty, and staff to continue to take the following preventive measures to prevent infection.
    • Avoid activities that involve eating and drinking in large groups.
    • During meals please eat silently, and wear a mask except when eating
    • Avoid closed spaces, such as karaoke and live houses
    • Clubs and other extracurricular activities shall comply with the guidelines established by each organization
    • Avoid high-risk behavior such as staying over at a friend's house
    • Continue social distancing
    • Wear a mask
    • Encouraging hand disinfection
    • Measure temperature daily (*must be entered into the “Temperature Record System” on the University Portal Site)
    • Vaccination is recommended as it is believed to be effective in preventing infection

The University will continue to take measures to prevent the spread of infection in the new academic year to ensure students, faculty and staff can enjoy a fulfilling and safe campus life. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
