Statement on the passing of Daisaku Ikeda , the founder of Soka university.

    On November 15, Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of this university, passed away.(He was 95 years old.)
    We would like to express our deepest gratitude for his kindness and pray as he rests in peace.
    A private family-only funeral service has already been held.

    It is with great sadness to hear the sudden news of the founder Daisaku Ikeda. For 53 years since Soka University opened in 1971, he wholeheartedly encouraged students to open up to the unlimited possibilities and discover their potential. The founder had always protected and supported the parents and guardians of all the students every way possible. We will carry on his legacy and continue to develop Soka Education for the generations to come .

    Daisaku Ikeda, the founder who encouraged students since the founding of Soka University, passed away on November 15, May he rest in peace. I am sure that every student is shocked and deeply saddened by the news of his death. Inheriting the founder's wish to "Make Soka University the best university in the world", now is the time to work together with faculty, staff, and students to build the university of Soka Education envisioned by the founder.I hope that each and every student will do their best in their studies and activities to live up to the high expectations of our founder, Ikeda, who watched over us and had high hopes for us.

    Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of Soka university, who had a fulfilling life, passed away at the age of 95. Since its opening in 1985, the college, which advocates women's education, has received a wide range of guidance from the founder, including the founding principles which are the foundation of our junior college education. In addition, since the founding of the college, he visited the college from time to time and sent his wishes and encouragement to every student. I am saddened by the news of his passing. With gratitude, I pledge to further expand the path that he pioneered. I would like to express my deepest condolences and pray for the eternal rest of our founder.
