Professor Elena Theodoropou, University of the Aegean, Rhodes in Greece visited Soka University on November 14^th and 15^th[VH1] . On the 15^th of November, Professor Theodoropou gave a public lecture entitled “Philosophy For/With Children: an open care for Philosophy of/in Education” in Philosophy of Education.

Professor Theodoropou gave a lecture on Philosophy for Children (P$C) from the viewpoint of practical philosophy. During the lecture, many philosophical questions were raised by participants such as “Is philosophy something that can be studied?” “Is there any educational conditions to improve the quality of thinking?” A very lively discussion ensued.

After the lecture, some participants commented: “The lecture was very exciting and meaningful. I am motivated to deliberate on various philosophical questions in Education.”

Soka University has been participating in the Erasmus+ 2021- 2027 programme. This program funded by the European Union (EU) provides funding and opportunities for international educational and research exchanges between EU countries and non-EU countries.

Under the agreement between University of the Aegean and Soka University, Yukina Kuriyama (second-year student, Faculty of Education) received a Erasmsus+ 2021-2027  International Scholarship to study abroad at University of the Aegean Rhodes, Greece for two months. Additionally, five qualified students have been invited to attend an international conference organized by Laboratory of Research on Practical Philosophy held April 2024. This is the first academic exchange between Greek academic and research institute and Soka University.
