In the spring semester FILA students taking the Management Science course paid a visit to a Yokohama based consulting firm, Avinton, to learn about cutting edge methods utilized by data engineers to help businesses develop machine learning applications. During the visit, the students heard from the lead consultant who explained the methods used by the company in helping clients employ analytics methods. The next presenter was a SOKA alumnus and a former member of Prof. Aytun Ozturk’s seminar, Daisuke Baba. Daisuke, who now works at Avinton as a data engineer, provided examples from one of the recent projects he worked on and shared with the students how he is making use of the knowledge and the skills he gained while in FILA. The presentations were followed by a Q&A session and a tour of the Avinton facility.
