PLANE3T Project welcomes 2 Ethiopian researchers from collaborating universities

During March 13~21, 2019, Dr. Andargachew Moges, Assistant Professor of Bahir Dar University and Dr. Aemero Tadesse of Injibara University from Ethiopia visited Soka University as collaborators for the PLANE3T Project. Theme 4 (Research team in charge of Environmental Education) of the project was the main host for this occasion.

The guests had interactive and fruitful minutes each day, giving speeches to students, meeting with research counterparts and visiting cites like tea factory (Shizuoka prefecture) and Lake Ashino (Hakone town). Furthermore, on March 18, they attended the 45th Soka University Graduation Ceremony at the Ikeda Auditorium.

Having learned Japanese policy on environmental issues and witnessed Soka University's activities based on its founding spirit,

they respectively reviewed the 8-day trip as follows:
"Humanistic mentality and actions are encouraged and implemented in Soka University, without them being a mere slogan. Through this visit, I realised that each who belong to this school acts in an examplary way and thus humanism is explicit." (Dr. Andargachew)
"It is important that Soka University upholds a theme of peace. Peace comes first when something needs to be achieved" (Dr. Aemero)
