| Research theme | The impact of the legal system on economic activity, the relationship between property rights constraints based on public policy and infringement of private law interests, legal challenges of digital platforms, rights protection insurance, practical training in Faculty of Law, etc. |
| research content | The starting point of my research was comparative legal research on "rights protection insurance" (German law, American law, etc.), which I worked on in my doctoral dissertation. This system is a system that supports attorneys' fees in legal disputes with insurance, and by carefully analyzing the theory and operation in Germany, where advanced practices have been accumulated, we have tried to obtain suggestions for Japan's practice. Since then, based on the perspective cultivated in comparative law, I have expanded my scope to the field of corporate law, mainly corporate law and insurance law, and have conducted systematic research as a positive law school. In view of the importance of the clinical component in legal education, we are also engaged in research (including field interviews) on the Pflichtpraktikum (compulsory apprenticeship) system in Faculty of Law, Germany. Recently, I have been deepening my research focusing on issues in the field of corporate law, such as corporate governance and officer responsibility. |
| Research and Education Policy | I believe that research is an endeavor that adds new creativity to the accumulated knowledge of our predecessors, gives back to society, and passes it on to future generations. To achieve this, it is essential to broadly read literature from all times and places, analyze it comprehensively from multiple perspectives, and produce results that can contribute to practical work. In the doctoral program, we place particular emphasis on cultivating the ability to formulate academic questions as an independent researcher and to continuously pursue those questions. |
| Degrees Obtained | Completed doctoral program in Corporate Science, Graduate School of Business Sciences, University of Tsukuba; Doctor of Law. |
| Message | While practical research requires time and effort, the joy of arriving at unique insights is priceless. Many unresolved issues still exist in the fields of corporate law, particularly company law and insurance law. We encourage you to explore your own questions and fully enjoy the world of intellectual creation in this graduate school. |
